Overview
AETRON is a blockchain on which AI services run with a cryptographic proof of every computation. Participants produce useful digital goods, AI inference, model training, and compute, and the network verifies that work before paying for it. This page is a map of the whole system and where to go next.
The Three Building Blocks
1. Neuronets
A Neuronet is a self-contained AI service: a marketplace for one or more AI tasks where miners produce results and the network verifies them. The network can run many independent Neuronets at once. Example: a Neuronet that serves a language model and pays miners for verified responses. See Neuronets.
2. The Blockchain
Built on Substrate, the chain is the settlement layer. It records balances and stake, runs emission, holds the compact proofs of work, and handles governance. It does not run the AI itself, only the verification and accounting around it.
3. Proof of Intelligence
The verification mechanism that ties it all together. Every computation carries a cryptographic proof, and emission is paid only for work that passes. See Proof of Intelligence.
Who Takes Part
AETRON has four roles, and one participant can hold several at once.
- Owner: creates a Neuronet, defines its tasks, and runs the service.
- Miner: provides compute, serves requests, and re-checks other miners' work. Verification is done by miners for each other, not by a separate validator role.
- Staker: delegates AET to a Neuronet, which raises its capacity and earns a share of its emission.
- Block Validator: secures the base chain and votes on protocol upgrades.
How AET Works
AET follows Bitcoin's logic with one difference: emission goes to useful AI work, not to hashing.
- Hard cap of 33 million AET, no premine.
- 1.5 AET per block at a 12-second block time.
- Halving by total issuance, with the first halving at 16.5 million AET.
Each block's emission is split 90% to Neuronets, 5% to Block Validators, and 5% to the Treasury. See Emission System.
